Who am I as an Artist?

My name is Astrid Kathryn Akerman, and I am a multimedia illustrator with a focus on creature and character design. I have always loved movies, Video games, and just about everything entertainment. I'm from Portland, Maine, but have traveled the world, and I put that global culture, history, and inspiration into my art.

I am currently a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in illustration with a minor in scientific illustration. I plan to enter the entertainment field to work on movies, video games, and, of course, explore any other opportunities that come up. Some of my biggest inspirations are Guillermo del Toro's movies, Stephen Oakley, and Terry Whitlatch.
